Sports Wellness Coaching Certificate
A new standard for human-centered coach development—bringing athlete well-being, leadership, communication, team culture, and performance together in one comprehensive certificate.
WHAT IT IS
The Role of the Coach Is Evolving
Coaches influence far more than performance. They shape the environment around athletes—helping them navigate pressure, build sustainable habits, strengthen resilience, and stay connected to their sport. The Sports Wellness Coaching Certificate provides a practical, evidence-based framework for supporting the whole athlete and advancing well-being and performance together.

Two ways to earn it
Both include the same online curriculum. Coach-Led adds live facilitation.
Coach-Led
The full online curriculum, plus five live group sessions. Cohort-based, five to ten coaches.
Self-Paced
The full online curriculum, completed on your own schedule.
How Coach-Led works
Coach-Led is a cohort-based experience. Coaches move through the same online curriculum, then come together for live group sessions to discuss and deepen the material.
A small cohort
A minimum of five and a maximum of ten coaches, so discussion stays personal.
Five live sessions
Five facilitated group sessions bring the curriculum to life with live discussion.
Led by an expert
An SWI Certified Sports Wellness Coach, who is also a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach.
The SWI Coaching Alliance
Earning the certificate is the beginning, not the end. Every coach who completes the program receives a first-year membership in the SWI Coaching Alliance, a growing community of coaches committed to athlete well-being, professional growth, and more human-centered leadership.
The Alliance connects coaches across sports and communities, creating opportunities to continue learning through guest speakers, professional development sessions, shared resources, and conversations with peers who understand the realities of coaching.
It is a place to stay connected, exchange ideas, and keep growing long after the final lesson.
